Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, training, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing. Success is not a destination, but the road that you’re on. For Janne Kaske, the road that he is on is the road to his first ever European Tour tournament. After claiming victory in the Hong Kong International Qualifying, he received a qualifying spot for the chance in the RMB 20 million Volvo China Open at Topwin Golf and Country Club, Beijing from April 27-30 – making it his first debute in the European Tour and the biggest tournament of his career.

“With this being my first time competing in a European Tour event, the difficulty level of the playing field is very competitive,” said Janne. “Lately I’ve been training myself physically and preparing myself mentally so that I could have a consistent outcome. I can comfortably say that I am now ready for the Volvo China Open coming up soon.”

The Finnish golfer who is usually based in Thailand, is brand ambassador to Thana City Golf & Sports Club, explains to us how of his daily training routine at his homeclub for the biggest tournament he’ll play.

“Typically my daily affairs would consist of about 5-6 hours of golf practice divided evenly between ball striking and short game. I usually finish my training days with about an hour and half at the gym where I do mainly strength training.”

“Performing to the best of my abilities is what I aim to do. Doing it while looking good, well that opportunity has been given to me by PG Performance Gear. They’ve been helping me to gear up with the latest styles and trends that go hand in hand with its technical functionality.”

Janne Kaske will join Mikko Korhonen and Mikko Ilonen, both who are the top Finnish golfers in the European Tour, in Beijing for the Volvo China Open.

Mr. Chartchai Veerasinthop and Janne Kaske

Finnish golf professional Janne Kaske starts the year off with a grand deal with Thana City Golf & Sports Club to become Brand Ambassador.

“Having Janne join the Thana City team is something rather ideal for us” announced General Manager Mr. Chartchai Veerasinthop. “With the ongoing upgrades that we have going on, we’re also pushing to further develop Thana City with not only the golf aspect but as well as to initiate Janne with the sports club”.

“We can really see that Janne is the type of golfer whose attentiveness to fitness and health is a priority. And at Thana City, that is exactly what we’re trying to push forward with our members” says Mr. Chartchai.

Janne has become the first professional golfer to represent Thana City on this scale. Normally, the club had concentrated on juniors only.

“I’m very excited about this partnership as practicing and playing at Thana City will be the ideal setup for me. I’m looking forward to taking full advantage of the fantastic golf and fitness facilities that they have to offer and hope that they will help me further to achieve my goals” says Janne.

Recognizing that the territory comes with access to multiple facilities, there’s no other golf course out there than Thana City where Janne rather calls home.

For over 2 decades, Thana City’s 18-hole course, reputable by the legendary Greg Norman design is the only one of its kind in the whole of Thailand.

Inevitably, Thana City has been Janne’s primal location as his practice ground. Home to Singha Elite Performance Center for Singha sponsored golfers, just as he is, Janne’s new bond relations with Thana City enables him to further make progressions for more development for his professional career with more ease and comfort.

Before golf legends are made, their accomplishments of victory leads them forward to such forthcoming. Like everyone else, they all start off unexperienced and untrained until their progression and talent surpasses those around them. Introducing Thailand’s very own golf legend Boonchu Ruangkit, one of many few who’ve made such feat and now in the second consecutive year of the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship.

As 2016 comes to an end, all eyes are set on the final event of the Asian Development Tour and Singha All Thailand Tour schedule for the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship held at Rancho Charnvee Resort & Country Club. Finnish star Janne Kaske aims high to finish the last tournament of the year in style!

Janne Kaske teed off the first round in the superstar group alongside with Thailand’s number one Thongchai Jaidee and last year’s winner Phachara Khongwatmai where he finished with a tied 27 with a 2 under-par 69.

“I had the great pleasure to play with the Thai legend Thongchai Jaidee, who gave one of the most impressive displays of professional golf that I’ve witnessed firsthand,” said Janne.

Janne continued his progression up the leaderboard with a final round 68 to finish at 10 under par, tied for 13th.

“I was happy with my own game, even though I failed to post a really low score on the second round when I had the chance to do it. Game has been improving in the last couple of weeks and this tournament gave me a lot of positive feedback,” says Janne about his overall performance after the tournament.

As the tournament draws to a dramatic end, Danthai Boonma seals the win with a final score of 6 under-par 65 making it his first ADT title at the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship on Sunday.

With an outstanding year so far, Janne has already been looking forward for next year’s challenges that awaits him – aiming for his goal to secure a top 60 ranking on Asian Tour.

The formula for success is simple: practice and concentration then more practice and more concentration. There is no alternate to the hard work and success; we must practice on regular basis if we want to succeed. Only continuous practice can make us reach success through the perfection. Knowledge is a big thing but alone it cannot take us to our goals, we have to convert our knowledge into action which needs a regular practice.

We take a glimpse into Janne Kaske’s training session at Thana City and see what makes his perfect practice, perfect. But before we gain more insight towards his practice, we need to understand what kind of golfer Janne really is. If there is a need for one word to describe Janne’s intellectual and aesthetic abilities then that word is ‘perfectionist’. Every swing, stroke or putt is carefully analyzed and the amount of frequency that he puts into fine tuning it is unparalleled. It’s because of the fundamentals, drills and lots of repetition implemented that we see change and improvement. Overall, Janne is a very meticulous and technical golfer – consider him as a living, breathing, walking TrackMan!

When golfers practice, they typically follow normal routines on the putting green and driving range; to sink the ball in the hole or to bang it as far as possible. Everyone has the ability to play much better golf than ever dreamed possible. But if you want to become great or just a darn good, it will take more than practice. It will take hard work and a new understanding of what’s effective on the range, what isn’t and why. It will take something called perfect practice. When the pros or top players practice, they go into their session with a game plan. In Janne’s case, there is always a daily goal in mind and something to improve on. It may take a couple of days or heck, it might take a couple of weeks to perfect a certain stroke but no matter the circumstances, it will be perfected to perfection!

“Perfect or nothing!” he implies.

Aiming for the top is one thing but doing it with the backing of one of the biggest sponsoring company’s in Thai golf industry is something to be recognize with. History in the making, this year Janne Kaske is officially sponsored by Singha Corporation, one out of only a few foreign golfers in Thailand whom of which have received sponsorship. The relationship furthers as within Thana City there lies the Singha Elite Performance Center, the home training ground for all Singha sponsored players. Janne goes ahead to describe, “this place has shaped the art of equipping and training golfers to play better golf through improved awareness of swing cause and effects as a result of the actions by their body, the club, and their effect on the golf ball”.

As a golf traveler, when not competing or abroad, we can most certainly find Janne training at Thana City. “Location wise, there is nowhere else that provides the convenience that this place has given me. I live close by and I travel a lot. With the airport in such close proximity, I can be off the greens and on the plane in no time” says Janne. “The facilities are top-notched and it seems they are always trying to find a way to improve what is already great!”

The bottom line, practice enables a person to reach the heights of success in all walks of life. Practice develops outstanding qualities in one’s character. Practice not only brings perfection but also helps in building character. Thus, it is Janne’s perfect practice that brings him a step closer to perfection.

Fenix – from Golf World to Lifestyle Markets

From the very beginning, FENIX has always been present in the golfing realm. Golf begins with a good grip, and with that in mind, the importance of a good grip is the fundamental keystone of a good golf swing. The grip is the only connection the golfer has with the club, so finding a comfortable grip is vital to achieve maximum playability.

The golf course at Rancho Charnvee is a beautiful tournament venue.

The 2015 edition of the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship came into conclusion on the 27th of December. The season-ending co-sanctioned event of the Asian Development Tour and the Singha All Thailand Tour took place in the breathtaking landscapes of Khao Yai on the Rancho Charnvee Resort & Country Club golf course.

The event gathered players from all around the world including local fan favourites such as European Tour winners Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat.

Impeccable condition of the golf course and fantastic weather gave the players scoring opportunities that were ruthlessly used.

Phachara Khongwatmai’s Phenomenal Performance

The winner Phachara is only 16 years old.
The winner Phachara is only 16 years old.

Preceding the fourth and final round of the tournament, the nationality of the winner looked to be clear: 18 players out of the top-20 were competing on their native soil of Thailand.

The setting was thrilling: rising young stars battling each other with the more experienced players still at striking distance. Halfway through the round, the only 16-year-old phenomenon Phachara Khongwatmai had taken the solo lead with a spectacular front nine of 30 (-5).

Shaky start to the back nine opened the gates for the players chasing, and none other than the great Thongchai Jaidee took grasp of the opportunity with an astonishing eagle on the 14th. With back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17, Jaidee took the clubhouse lead at -21 after a round of 65.

Playing a couple of groups behind, Phachara rose back to the performance level he had been exhibiting throughout the week. Birdies on 14 and 15 opened a two-shot-lead with two holes to play. Nerves took over again at the 17th, when he missed a short putt for par which meant that he’d have to make a par on the 72nd hole to avoid a playoff with his idol.

Phachara showed cool nerves and sheer maturity approaching the reachable short par 4 with an iron off the tee. After a fine approach shot to 15 feet, Phachara two-putted for par to take the win with total score of -22 after a sensational performance.

Honoring the Legendary Boonchu Ruangkit

Somewhat all the Thai players stayed for the award ceremony to celebrate the victory of the young Phachara and to honor the legendary Boonchu Ruangkit, Thailand’s grand golf master, at the year-ending event.

The atmosphere among the joyful and relaxed players was an illustration of genuine team spirit which thrives behind the mountains of Khao Yai.
